In sworn testimony, FBI agent Haag read from grand jury testimony outlining why Universal needed the expertise of Charter School Consultant Dawn Chavous. Further conveyed, reading from the testimony as Shahied Dawan, Haag stated that Ms. Chavous was addressing matters external to the organization not internal. He expressed the need for Universal to get consultant support as there was an environment of friends and foes to the charter school movement. The Royal Theater at the heart of the case was sold for over three million dollars. The bribe was supposed to have been for approximately $66,000.00.
