Developer Carl Dranoff testifies for the prosecution stating that he advised Universal Company defendants Rahim Islam and Shahied Dawan to seek legal advice regarding zoning for the Royal Theatre which is at the center of this case, a proposed plan to develop the property between Universal and Dranoff. He further stated that the legal advice determined they should ask for an ordinance from councilman Johnson. Upon cross-examination by the defense, Mr. Dranoff further stated that consultants were suggested to garner the community support needed to move forward with the plan all costs provided by Universal.
